Fun place to go and watch the races. Not the greatest location but sometimes you have to go out of your way for a good time. Hot dog and beer specials on Tuesday means designate a driver.
Took the kids for the Holiday. Free park. $1 hot dogs. Placed a few bets to show, but the real winner was standing on the fence at the finish watching the horsies run!
The track itself is very nice; It was in good condition the day I visited. The facilities are bare-bones and quite underwhelming when compared to other race-tracks. I know that the grade of horses is lesser than most other tracks but that does not mean that the facility cant strive to be the best. Its not that this place is bad, its just not as good as other tracks I've been to. Now on the entertainment perspective I will say that we certainly had a good time and enjoyed a little horse-hooky on a Tuesday afternoon. Overall, not a bad place if you are stuck in the St. Louis area, but better options are available within 4 hours if you want to travel. 3/5
Great place to bet on some horses. Food is usually ok and the bar is pretty stocked. Cheap way to spend an evening and try to win some cash.

I swear...every time I am disappointed. Food and service gross and slow. Go to bet on another track after the 7th race and they shut off machines. Go to window...window guy let's some dude stand there and wait for official ruling from Fairmount before I can bet on other track. My would be bet of course wins. Sorry honey is my consultation. Other times I get ripped off at window upon cash out. No joke...Now, I always cash out with machines first before I go to window. Be aware of shadiness.
Kids are also welcome and are usually free to get in.
